Denis Law:

A Printfield Legend

A King is Born

Born in 1940, Denis Law went on to become one of the greatest football players of all time. Known as The King and The Lawman, and also described as a showman and a swordsman—he was an intelligent player with a rare blend of flair and grit, a one-off with equal measures of elegance and menace.

Early Promise

As a young boy growing up in Printfield, Denis supported Aberdeen Football Club and showed early promise, earning selection for Scotland Schoolboys. At 15, he was scouted by Huddersfield Town, beginning a professional journey that would make history.

One of a Kind

His talent was exceptional. The legendary Brazilian footballer, Pelé, once remarked that Denis was the only British player who could have joined Brazil’s legendary 1960s team and called him the greatest Scottish footballer ever.
