Volunteer with us

We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about working with young people and personal development. Through volunteering with us you will get the opportunity to develop new skills and make a positive impact to young people in their communities. Volunteering enables personal growth and promotes health and wellbeing.

A Denis Law Legacy Trust volunteer primarily involves working with a team to deliver engaging, youth-led sessions which take place during weekday evenings. Ideally, you will have energy, drive and confidence to play a major role in the running of Denis Law Legacy trust activities and our Streetsport programme.

Sport is not the only way you can volunteer with us. We have a range of exciting programmes and opportunities for volunteers of all backgrounds. Get in touch to find out more.

Volunteering can:

  • Improve your mental health and alleviate stress and anxiety by spending quality time away from your hectic work, study or family schedule. Here you can build a sense of achievement and growth.

  • Promote a healthy lifestyle and improve your physical health through different exercise and activities. Engage with young participants in a sports environment and help them while helping yourself.

  • Build positive relationships as part of a team. We have a team of trained staff and volunteers. Take that extra step to get out there, get involved and be part of the family.

  • Develop your existing skills and knowledge by giving you unique opportunities to take part in workshops and training. Whether it's Duke of Edinburgh, first aid, RYLA or coaching courses, we create opportunities for you to get involved in, which will enhance your CV.

  • Make a genuine difference! You can be involved in changing the lives of young people by being a positive influence through promoting healthy relationships and life choices.

This is a fantastic and fulfilling opportunity to gain experience within sport and the third sector and you will be supported by a team of experienced and like-minded colleagues. We have a flexible approach to volunteering so if you can fit us in, we can fit you in! Be it once a week or once a month, whatever works for you.

Volunteers have been, and will continue to be, a vitally important part of Denis Law Legacy Trust, it’s why we focus a lot on personal and professional development. In return for your help, we run an annual volunteer celebration and organise regular volunteer training each quarter throughout the year.

Our social events have seen us have a go at surfing, skateboarding, rollerblading, Go Ape as well as exercise classes, quiz nights, race nights and more. If you get on board and have a good idea for the next one, just let us know!

In recognition of the support we give our volunteers, we have been awarded the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service and the Volunteer Friendly Award. Click here to find out more about these and the other awards that we couldn't have achieved without our fantastic volunteers.
