Programme

Streetsport

Denis Law Legacy Trust’s flagship programme, delivered in partnership with Robert Gordon University

  • Free to access sport and creative activities.

  • Eliminating barriers to participation.

  • Operating across Aberdeen City.

Streetsport delivers daily free to access sports and creative activity sessions for young people 50-weeks of the year.

Utilising our mobile sports arena and equipment in various places including car parks, parks and local facilities, Streetsport has successfully reduced instances of anti-social behaviour; improved health and wellbeing; and encouraged inclusivity through sport, physical activity, and creative endeavour. You can find out more about the Streetsport’s positive impact here.

All of our Streetsport sessions are participant led with a wide range of sports and creative activities available for the young people who attend and our Streetsport emblazoned vans are loaded full of equipment and games… there’s something for everyone!

Volunteers are the backbone of Streetsport, delivering engaging, youth-led sessions which take place during weekday evenings. If you want to make a difference and volunteer find out more here.

Locations

Streetsport deploys directly into some of the most disadvantaged areas of Aberdeen as identified by the Scottish index of Multiple Deprivation. We also respond to reports of youth annoyance, as highlighted by Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Sessions operate in all weathers 5o weeks of the year so keep an eye on our social media for any updates to sessions.

Streetsport was initially established in 2006 as a pilot project between RGU Sport, Gray's School of Art and Police Scotland.

The initiative initially delivered activities into locations that were experiencing high levels of anti-social behaviour and has now developed into a full-time programme operating across the city every week night. This growth would not have been possible without our continued support of Robert Gordon University.
