The Denis Law Legacy Trust is a children’s charity, that supports and empowers young people to thrive through a range of positive pathways and free to access activities.
Inspired by Aberdeen’s very own Denis Law and Scotland’s only winner of the Ballon d’Or we use sports and creative activities to change lives.
OUR MISSION
Giving young people, regardless of background, a safe place to play, express themselves, thrive and belong.
But we’re not just tackling social problems — we’re unlocking potential. From the streets we combine sports and creativity to help young people develop their skills and purpose for the benefit of their communities and their lifetime.
Through our award-winning programmes and initiatives, delivered in partnership with Robert Gordon University, we take activities directly into communities, reducing antisocial behaviour, improving wellbeing, and building confidence among thousands of young people every year.
OUR 10 GOALS
Inspired by Denis’ famous number 10 shirt.
To provide community based events and activities that are free of charge and accessible to all.
To promote participation, social inclusion and integration.
To motivate and empower young people through prevention, intervention and diversionary activities.
To promote respect, civic values and social responsibility within communities and help reduce instances of youth crime and anti-social behaviour.
To promote health and well-being and discourage the misuse of substances, drugs and alcohol.
To promote education and creativity and the development of self-confidence, initiative and interpersonal skills.
To support and reconnect disaffected young people by providing alternative activities and opportunities for achievement.
To provide a platform for positive transformation.
To provide volunteers with opportunities to engage with and pursue personal development activities and qualifications.
To work in partnership and collaborate with all parties who share our common objectives for the benefit of communities and young people.
