Robert Gordon’s College Pupils Secure YPI Success for Denis Law Legacy Trust

A group of S4 pupils from Robert Gordon’s College has secured a £3,000 award for Denis Law Legacy Trust after delivering a winning presentation as part of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI).

The winning team, Group 11, comprised of Alex, Faridah, Hannah, James, Poppy, Victor and Zak. Representing Denis Law Legacy Trust, the pupils highlighted our work in providing sporting opportunities and activities for young people in communities that may not otherwise have access to them.

Their engaging presentation combined a compelling slideshow with a creative demonstration, including passing a football around the audience to emphasise the positive impact sport can have on bringing people together and creating opportunities for young people.

The group impressed judges with their understanding of the charity’s work, their enthusiasm and the effort they put into researching the organisation and its impact across the city, ultimately securing the £3,000 YPI grant for the Trust.

Hannah Clews, Development Manager for DLLT said:

A huge well done to Alex, Faridah, Hannah, James, Poppy, Victor and Zak. We loved having them in to learn more about what we do and were really impressed by the extra mile they went to find out more, engage with our work and represent us so well. Congratulations and thank you from all of us.”

The Youth Philanthropy Initiative gives young people the opportunity to learn about social issues, connect with local charities and advocate for causes that make a difference in their communities. Through their winning presentation, Group 11 not only demonstrated excellent teamwork and communication skills but also helped secure vital funding to support the ongoing work of Denis Law Legacy Trust.

Faridah from Group 11 added, “We're so happy about winning the grant and can't wait to see the difference it makes!

A massive congratulations to Alex, Faridah, Hannah, James, Poppy, Victor and Zak from everyone at Denis Law Legacy Trust. Thank you for all your hard work, enthusiasm and for doing such a fantastic job representing our charity.
