Streetsport Summer Series begins with a Clachnaben Hill Walk & Talk
We kicked off our new Streetsport Summer Series with a Clachnaben Hill Walk & Talk alongside a great group of local loons from Torry!
It was a fantastic day of fresh air, good conversations and taking in the incredible views from one of Aberdeenshire's most iconic landmarks. The weather helped the climb too, not too hot and not too cold!
The walk provided a great opportunity for everyone to get active, connect with others and enjoy the outdoors, all while challenging themselves on the climb to the summit. There were plenty of laughs along the way, and the stunning scenery made every step worthwhile.
Aimee Culley our Streetsport Operations Co-ordinator said, "We wanted to create additional opportunities for young people during the summer holidays, giving them something positive to take part in during the day alongside our evening Streetsport sessions. This fantastic initiative came from a collaborative discussion between one of our long-serving volunteers and one of our Streetsport Coaches, Dave Thompson and Ewan Sinclair, who suggested taking a small group of teenage boys out into nature for a day away from the city, combining physical activity with the chance to walk, talk, and connect. The boys embraced the challenge brilliantly and showed great determination throughout the day, experiencing a real sense of pride and achievement when they reached the top."
A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the first event of the series such a success.
We’re looking forward to more adventures, activities and opportunities to bring young people together throughout the summer.
