New Champions Crowned at Denis Law Legacy Trust Quiz Night

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Aberdeenshire Cricket Club for our annual Denis Law Legacy Trust Quiz Night. It was an evening of questionable knowledge, fierce competition and absolute confidence in answers that some turned out to be dramatically wrong!

There were heated debates, lucky guesses and genuine lightbulb moments, alongside a few quizzers realising their “specialist subject” might not have been quite as specialised as they’d hoped. More than anything, though, it became clear that people knew more than they gave themselves credit for!

Big congratulations to our winners Ryden With My Homies, who can enjoy a year of quiz night bragging rights. Richard Lang, Ryden’s team captain said: “Ryden was delighted to support the amazing work undertaken locally by the Denis Law Legacy Trust by having a team at the annual quiz event.  We had a great time drinking beer (Irn-Bru for Lorna) and eating the chocolates passed round.  We will be back next year fully aware that defending a success is more difficult than achieving it in the first place!”

We must say a big thank you to Bob and Susan from Hall Morrice, for all their support in the run up to the quiz and during, Along with Bob, Mike kept the quizzers on their toes with top‑notch questions and scorekeeping throughout the evening. A special thank you to our MC, Steve Innes, who ensured the teams stayed in order with his trademark humour, banter and quick wit.

We also extend our thanks to Jodie and the team at Aberdeenshire Cricket Club for their wonderful hospitality and delicious BBQ, and finally to David Flett for providing fantastic musical entertainment.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated raffle and auction prizes. Your generosity helped make the night even more exciting and played a huge part in raising additional funds.

Most importantly, thanks to your support, we raised vital funds that will help us continue our work and make a real, positive difference in our local communities supporting young people through sport and creative activities.

We couldn't do it without you and we're already looking forward to doing it all again next year.

Until then, keep those trivia skills sharp!
