We’re celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2026

This week is Volunteers Week and we’re celebrating our amazing Denis Law Legacy Trust volunteers - without them we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.

Each week we work alongside with more than 70 volunteers, supporting young people from our local communities by delivering free access to sport and creative activity sessions.

Since the end of last year’s Volunteers Week in 2025, our volunteers have committed to over 3,400 hours!

A massive thank you to each and every one of you!

When you sign up to become a volunteer with us, Nikki will look after you all the way. Nikki is a vital part of the Denis Law Legacy Trust, ensuring all volunteers are trained and supported.

Nikki Fyfe, Volunteer Officer

So, we thought we’d spill the beans and tell you all about Nikki!

Q: Can you tell us more about your role:

Nikki: My role is to recruit new volunteers, support them throughout their volunteering journey, and help them build confidence and skills for everyday life. I also have the privilege of celebrating all the amazing achievements of our volunteers along the way.

Q: What about you, tell us about you…

Nikki: I’m originally from a small village outside of Edinburgh called Aberlady. I moved to Aberdeen to study at Robert Gordon University and have been here ever since.

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

Nikki: I’m either chasing after a toddler or enjoying a rare moment of peace on the couch playing Xbox! Life is always busy, which is why I have so much respect for the time and commitment our volunteers give to support others.

Q: What does volunteers week mean to you?

Nikki: Volunteer Week is really special to me because it’s a chance to recognise the incredible impact our volunteers make every single day. It’s about celebrating their time, energy and commitment, and saying a huge thank you for everything they do to support our community. I feel very lucky to work with such a dedicated and inspiring group of people.

Q: Can you tell us a secret about you?

Nikki: Most of our participants and volunteers know me as Nikki, but truth be told… my real name is Nicole (but don’t start calling me that now!).

Thanks Nicole 😉
