COO Mark Williams receives honorary degree from Robert Gordon University

Mark Williams, Chief Operating Officer of the Denis Law Legacy Trust, has received an honorary degree from Robert Gordon University.

Having joined the RGU staff in 2010, Mark was appointed DLLT COO in 2014 and has helped the Trust and in particular its flagship programme, Streetsport, grow exponentially in the years since.

RGU hosted the honorary graduation ceremony in the Sir Ian Wood building on campus yesterday (09/03/2020) to mark the importance of creating equal opportunities for young people from all backgrounds.

Mark Williams, recognised in particular for his role in transforming the lives of young people through sport, said: “I’m incredibly honoured and humbled to be receiving this recognition from RGU and I must thank all of the staff, volunteers, trustees and supporters for all their help and support since I started at the university 10 years ago.

“I feel I am very much only accepting this recognition on behalf of many people, many like-minded people, who strive to make a difference to young people’s lives and change them for the better”.

The ceremony also recognised the career and achievements of Scottish classical violinist Nicola Benedetti.

Everyone at the Denis Law Legacy Trust would like to express their congratulations to Mark. It is a hugely deserving reward for a fantastic colleague who continues to inspire his team of staff and volunteers to do more each day. Well done, Mark.
