Denis Law Legacy Trust Officially Becomes Carbon Neutral

The Denis Law Legacy Trust has officially become a certified Carbon Neutral Charity from Carbon Neutral Britain. The process began when Granite City Speaks, a local youth forum launched by Denis Law Legacy Trust earlier this year, wanted to see the Trust take more action to combat climate change.

Denis Law Legacy Trust in partnership with Spirit of Football took part in “The Ball”, a global initiative that aims to tackle the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Focusing on Goal 13 to combat climate change, Denis Law Legacy Trust took steps to neutralise their carbon footprint and to reduce their impact on the environment.

James Poynter, director of Carbon Neutral Britain said “It has been a pleasure to work with Denis Law Legacy Trust and a very straightforward process - they were very comprehensive in collecting all the information required!

From all of us here at Carbon Neutral Britain, thank you for making a difference with your environmental action!”

Mark Williams, chief Operations Officer at Denis Law Legacy Trust said “When Granite City Speaks wanted to see more action on climate change, we took their call very seriously.

I’m proud of our official carbon neutral status.

It’s important that young people are at the heart and focus of a children’s charity. We’ve listened to them and now we want to use our carbon neutral status as a platform so, that we can continue to do more on climate change in future.

Granite City Speaks added “We’re all really passionate about tackling climate change, so it’s great to see the Trust has taken our concerns seriously.

We’re looking forward to working together in future, not just on climate change but, on the other big issues that matter to us.”
