RGU’s Streetsport receives the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) Streetsport initiative has this week been given the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary groups, is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work in their communities.
Scotland’s first Cruyff Court reaches completion
Scotland’s first ever Cruyff Court has opened in Aberdeen. The previous Catherine Street Court was a run-down and under-used urban space within the city centre. It has now been transformed into a hi-tech, all-weather play and activity area for families in the surrounding community and the wider Aberdeen area.
