Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) Streetsport initiative has this week been given the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary groups, is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work in their communities.

Scotland’s first ever Cruyff Court has opened in Aberdeen. The previous Catherine Street Court was a run-down and under-used urban space within the city centre. It has now been transformed into a hi-tech, all-weather play and activity area for families in the surrounding community and the wider Aberdeen area.

Prince Harry paid a visit to Robert Gordon University (RGU) this week as part of his first official visit to Aberdeen to learn about some of the vital work being done by a number of the city’s leading youth development projects.
