Update: Land’s End to John O'Groats for Denis Law Legacy Trust

UPDATE 15/10

One month on from cycling the length of the country and it’s back to the day job for Stephen. Having fundraised for the Denis Law Legacy Trust, members of the Streetsport team took a trip to his dental practice to hear all about his incredible feat before presenting him with a well deserved thank you pack.

Stephen’s Just Giving page this month toppled the £1,000 figure which, coupled with the donation tin that occupied his dentist, meant he raised well over £1,150.

A total this large funds a coaches salary for an entire year which essentially keeps a Streetsport session running, a massive contribution to a charity which relies on the generosity of others.

Take a glimpse into Stephen’s amazing nine-day cycle through this brilliant video which exemplifies his achievement as the rain, contrasting scenery and magnitude of the distance shines through!

Thanks again to Stephen and everyone who donated towards his journey, the money raised is an incredible effort that everyone at the Trust is incredibly grateful for.

UPDATE 15/09

On Sunday we were delighted to be on the receiving end of this latest image from Stephen who successfully completed the Deloitte Ride Across Britain over the weekend.

Starting at Lands End on the 7th, Stephen and hundreds of other budding cyclists set off to reach the John O’Groats landmark a full 980 miles away.

Each participant was riding for a charity of their choice and we were honoured to be chosen by Stephen as his designated organisation.

To date, he has managed to raise over £800 for the trust and the Streetsport programme, an amazing amount which will go directly towards enhancing the activities, equipment and environment for each young participant involved at Streetsport.

Stephen is still welcoming donations on Just Giving and any amount gifted would be gratefully received by himself and all at the Denis Law Legacy Trust.

UPDATE 07/09

We received this great image from Stephen prior to him setting off from Land’s End on his way north.

Hopefully, perhaps optimistically, he’ll still be smiling as wide throughout his gruelling cycle and at John O’Groats in nine days time!

You can of course still donate to the fundraising cause here. Each pound raised is hugely appreciated by both Stephen and all at the Denis Law Legacy Trust.

Earlier in the summer we broke the hugely impressive achievements of Alistair and Dave who completed the Speyside Way and the Paddy Buckley Round respectively.

Now it’s the turn of Stephen Rafferty who has chosen to take part in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain in aid of Streetsport, the flagship programme of the Denis Law Legacy Trust.

The ride tests cyclists to the limits and incorporates the famous route of Land’s End to John O’Groats, from the deepest south to furthest north in Britain.

Over nine days and 980 miles, hundreds of others will join Stephen on 7th September as they strive to raise funds for charity while completing an individually gruelling yet immensely rewarding challenge.

You can donate to Stephen at his Just Giving page here. All the money raised by Stephen and others go directly towards the front line of the charity, ensuring we continue to provide the best possible programme we can for the youth participants we support.

From all at the Denis Law Legacy Trust, good luck Stephen and thank you so much for choosing Streetsport as your chosen charity!
