Quartet to take on marathons in support of Denis Law Legacy Trust

Four runners will take on the feat of a marathon in the upcoming days after fundraising thousands of pounds for Denis Law Legacy Trust.

The quartet have all dedicated an abundance of hours in training while simultaneously managing to each raise a significant amount of donations towards the Trust and its Streetsport programme, directly and positively impacting young people across Aberdeen.

James Kelleher, who amazingly also ran the Rome Marathon in just late September, will be in the UK capital this weekend to contest the London Marathon. Jim’s a huge Manchester United fan and cites Denis Law as his childhood hero. He entered the Trust’s ballot for the event and was lucky enough to be drawn from the hat as the charity’s designated 2021 London Marathon runner.

Chris West and Clare Clark, who work in Aberdeen for Optimus and John Clark respectively, will be running the world-renowned race ‘virtually’, tackling a local route while London stages a restricted main event. They’ve both raised huge sums over the course of the year, on top of the continued support offered by their employees to the Trust and its endeavours.

Fourthly, Peter Boyle will run the Manchester Half-Marathon next weekend. Also a massive Manchester United fan, Peter is running to give back to Denis Law, a player who “inspired so many people”.

Two members of the Trust’s full-time staff have also committed to running one of the marathons with Mark, COO, running London’s virtual marathon this weekend and Lewis, Comms and Marketing Officer, taking on the Manchester Marathon on October 10.

Everyone at Denis Law Legacy Trust would like to wish good luck to James, Chris, Clare and Peter and thank them massively for their fundraising efforts, it’s hugely appreciated.
