2022 Annual Fundraising Dinner Preview

Denis Law Legacy Trust’s prestigious annual fundraising dinner will return to the Marcliffe hotel, Friday 18th November. The already sold-out dinner will feature a unique world cup theme in advance of the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In anticipation of the glamorous event, here’s a sample of what is in store for the evening from inspiring guest speakers to exciting prizes.

Special guests

The Trust’s annual dinner always attracts stars and esteemed guests and this year is no different. Our guest speakers have all left their mark on world cup history.

  • Willie Miller won 65 Scotland Caps and is Denis Law Legacy Trust’s first ever Ambassador.

  • Joe Jordan is the only Scotland player to have scored in 3 successive world cup finals.

  • Jim Leighton represented Scotland at four World Cups and has played 91 times for Scotland.

  • Stuart Kennedy is an Aberdeen FC icon who played in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina.

The evenings events will be led by long-term host Alex Fleming and will end with a toast from The Lord Provost himself.

Live auction

Money raised through kindly donated auction items are crucial to the continual growth and success of Denis Law Legacy Trust’s range of impactful programmes that aim to empower young people within their communities. Including, the Trust’s flagship programme Streetsport that aims to improve the lives of young people through sport and creative activity.

Up for grabs at this year’s dinner includes a host of signed and framed sports shirts, from a Manchester City one from Denis’ debut season, to golf with Willie Miller and Jim Leighton. There’s also two VIP tickets for Wednesday 21st December Battle Of The Brits with hospitality and an opportunity to meet Andy, Jamie and Judy Murray at their Q and A before the matches start.

Many thanks to the companies, organisations and small businesses that donated to our auction.

Silent auction, World Cup themed game of Heads or Tails and so much more!

An exciting range of items are also available to be bid on through our silent auction from spa vouchers to a state-of-the-art scooter there will also be a heads or tails game on famous (or infamous) World Cup penalties! There will also be a #YesBallGames raffle - a favourite from previous dinners.

Every penny raised at the annual fundraiser will be used to enhance and grow the charity and its work in Aberdeen.

Our sincerest thanks to all of the individuals and companies who have helped, supported and donated in aid of Denis Law Legacy Trust. We couldn’t do the good work that we do without you.
